At the QFCRA, we are dedicated to maintaining the integrity of the QFC financial ecosystem by combating scams and frauds related to financial services. As the financial services regulator, our role involves implementing and enforcing rules and regulations to protect consumers and ensure firms are operating within regulatory requirements.
We actively supervise our firms to ensure compliance and detect suspicious activities.
Additionally, we provide the public with essential information and awareness on identifying and avoiding common fraud schemes to minimise the impact of these threats.
Definition and Examples:
Financial scams involve deceptive practices aimed at tricking individuals or organisations into giving away money, property, other type of assets or sensitive information.
Examples include phishing, website cloning, investment fraud, identity theft and Ponzi schemes.
Who to Contact
Please contact the QFCRA as soon as possible if you suspect a scam involving an authorised firm, a business purporting to be an authorised firm, a person associated with these firms, or if you come across any misuse of the QFCRA name or persons associated or purportedly associated with the QFCRA. Our team will take appropriate action in such cases with the utmost diligence and confidentiality.
Please note that regulatory actions do not include compensating scam victims.
