Programmes for Professionals

Financial Stability Institute (FSI) Connect

Regulatory Authority employees in the core business areas of supervision, authorisation, policy and enforcement are encouraged to expand their sector knowledge via this online information and learning resource that is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Developed by the Financial Stability Institute (FSI) specifically for supervisory authorities, FSI Connect offers web-based courses on key risk management topics including international financial regulatory standards and sound supervisory practices, including the latest prudential standards, key guidance on banking and insurance supervision, and relevant accounting and deposit insurance topics. The costs of the programme are covered entirely by the Regulatory Authority, and there are multiple learning pathways for employees eager to earn certifications in aspects of financial supervision.

IOSCO/PIFS-Harvard Law School Global Certificate Program for Regulators of Securities Markets. Recently, two members of the Investment Management Supervision team completed the IOSCO/PIFS-Harvard Law School Global Certificate Program for Regulators of Securities Markets. The year-long course covered the fundamentals and intricacies of securities regulation and compliance as well as current and future regulatory challenges and emerging issues. The course was conducted online and with in-person modules on regulation and compliance, with a one-week in-person module taught on campus at Harvard Law School.

Professional memberships. We champion employee involvement in professional organisations that help to expand knowledge of financial regulation and build relationships with local, regional and international standard-setting bodies. Annual membership fees are covered by the Regulatory Authority.

RAfresh & RAfuel. We host an ongoing series of one-hour information sessions, with the intent of bringing all staff at the Regulatory Authority up to date on matters concerning financial regulation and the financial sector. Featuring both staff experts and outside specialists, these sessions are well-attended and fuel excitement every month. Recent sessions included “An Introduction to the Legal Principles of Insurance” to FinTech (financial technology) to the new long-form audit report on annual financial statements.
